Texas Farmers Union was organized in Point, Texas in 1902. The founder, Newt Gresham, was a former newspaper editor sympathetic with the problems facing small agricultural producers at the turn of the century.

From these humble beginnings in a small Northeast Texas community, Farmers Union spread through the nation. Texas Farmers Union is now headquartered in Waco, Texas.

National Farmers Union is now the nation's leading organization representing the interests of family farmers and ranchers throughout the nation. The national organization is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with offices in Washington, D.C.
